I like Matt Smith as The Doctor a little more than David Tennant, but jesus fuck the writing in Tennant’s tenure takes the mother of all shits on Steven Moffat’s job with Eleven.

I love Matt Smith, I do, but the writing simply cannot compare. Sorry dude.

This will always be my opinion. Except that I like Matt, David, and Chris basically equally. But the part about the writing - Davies writes Doctor Who perfectly, and nothing else will compare to how it was under his headwriter-ship.

Oooo mines seems to be an unpopular opinion then. As I love Moffat*’s writing(have since Coupling). I’d been wishing him to be the head writer since…well… the first series after ‘Are you my mummy’ XD. Or for him to at least get more episodes than he did until he did actually become the head writer. *(Please note I mean just Moffat, as there were some rather awful eps of s5 that he didn’t write, like the Vampires of Venice, some good lines, but overall, pretty naff. My dad doesn’t like The Beast Below, or The Hungry Earth eps, I honestly don’t get his beef with them. The Dalek ep maaaaybe I can understand why he doesn’t like it, but I still enjoy it for the ‘Would you like some tea?’ XD)

RTD was brilliant at some stuff, but not so brilliant at other stuff. Like he could make you cry at the drop of a hat, but his big action stuff, bit here & there. Specially with the finales, very hit and miss. Like the decision to have Doctor-Donna go with Rose o________________o forever NO.

Moffat seems to have gone the geekier direction. Which I LOVE. But lots of little kids won’t, cos they won’t get it. In some ways it was better as a family orientated show, more viewers, but I have Moffat-goggles, just as I have JJ-goggles XD.

(P.S, Tennant will always be my favourite(he was my choice for the Doctor after Christ left). But Eccleston & Smith are tied for second. Because they’re all fantastic. I love all new Who, bar the really naff episodes, but generally I’m quite easy to please, so I don’t pick holes, I enjoy it for what it is. And most of the time, what it is, is awesome.
